Darlington's Heighington Village won the award of 'Britain's Best Village' in the BBC TV series of the same name some 2 years ago.  This accolade confirms what is best about Darlington: it is an attractive market town, with contemporary facilities supported by attractive rural villages and delightful countryside.

At Head of Steam, Darlington's railway museum, celebrate the pioneering Quakers who made the dream of steam a reality and brought the world rail travel. After its multi-million pound development programme, the 'Golden Age of Steam' is brought right up to date.  It's a superb place for families and its new café make it great for a longer visit to enjoy the fun.

Then of course, there's shopping, nightlife, sport, music, events and eating out  to enjoy, so relax ... it's time for some fun!
