Stroll around Darlington's 91 acre idyllic South Park, which has recently been lavishly restored to its former Victorian splendour. Visitors will marvel at the ancient giant redwood tress, bandstand and tranquil lake, with wheelchair and buggy-friendly boardwalks. Right in the heart of town the park's award-winning floral displays, rose garden, sensory garden, aviaries and kiddies' play area delight users of all ages. For a contemporary experience it has to be West Park at Faverdale. A delightful 12 hectare modern sculpture park in an urban nature reserve setting, which attracts a variety of birds and butterflies during the summer months. The park boasts monolithic stone sculpture and a fascinating circular acoustic sculpture on a mound with great views over the surrounding countryside.
